Chuck's photos of the week.

Just a couple of photos from a busy busy week, the first of Oct. 2020

One of my favorite flowers, a toad lily.  Last year it got frosted down before it opened a flower.  Despite a couple of early frosts this year it has so far managed to open several so far.

This Sharp Shinned hawk I found dead with a broken neck beside the house.  The windows there have screens.  One of the most interesting aspects of the hawk are it's wings.  They are round tipped, and have several grouping of feathers, not all visible in the pic. Notably what looks like a small group of small ailerons on the leading edge.

Enjoy your day.  Cheers
