Chuck's Sunday photo corner

Spring is in the air, for another day or two when more snow is expected.
All photo's taken by me in the yard.

I have never really figured out what this shrub is.

This is a 'baton rouge' a type of juniper that the city was named for.  In this area it was nearly harvested to extinction for it's sought after wood to make pencils.

Hawthorn bud.

The view of a couple of forsythia from the front porch.

The end of another day, the bird is most likely a goose.  I saw a sparrow hawk this week.  There used to be lots of them now they are a lucky siting.

A few days after the first forsythia pic.

This is going to open as a dark blue lilac.

Korean honeysuckle

An old fashioned bar berry.

Euonymus the shrub variety. (I think)

One of many peonies breaking ground, the new leaves look like small hands reaching out of the soil.

I've been munching this guy for a couple of weeks already.  It is hot and potent (very flavourfull, over the top onion, and it's very hardy) Commonly called a 'bunching onion'.

Nothing stops thyme lol

Oregano already to give up a little flavour to the kitchen.

The sage is still waiting for a little more heat.  Same with the Russian sage in the front flower bed.

The apple tree, no sign of flowers yet.

The pear tree, just getting started.

Recommend this post and post a few pics of yours.
