Chuck's picture corner to Sept. 14, 2025

Well I'm sore all over this week from my time going up and down, lol.
It's been a week of roofing and I'm not quite done yet. It was supposed to rain this weekend but again it looks like the forecast is wrong and Cardinal is still experiencing drought.
For a weekend break I'm spending time in the kitchen again, more chili making happening.

Lite and dark kidney beans soaking for a day before boiling for at least an hour before adding to the pot.

I picked more peppers and tomatoes before I finished peeling the tomatoes.

almost finished this section of the roof.

morning is getting later and later, as fall is about to arrive

The hoya is still flowering the smallest flower of three happening now.

Taking a little time to smell the roses, noting the different layers of cloud.

one place the roof was leaking, the plywood  was added on top of the old porch roof of planks underneath it, the last time it was shingled I assume.

another spot that will need special attention.

starting.

I had to buy a new pair of suspenders the 20 year old one tore

these are 3 tab shingles, not made anymore, my next roofing job I'll have to get the new kind.

This guy kinda feels like family. It nested on the front porch this spring.

destruction before re-construction

the old roof was definitely done, showing the classic signs of no 'attic' ventilation

a small section to get started.

and so it begins.

Enjoy each day
Cheers
